Strength Training


At LVTC we offer a full array of choices for you to meet your Strength Training goals. Our Strength Training Center has been designed to provide an effective and safe workout. Our Cybex VRII machines are designed with Dual Axis Technology where the exercise movement is defined by the user instead of the machine. We feature the newest line from FreeMotion. FreeMotion is a selectorized cable machine that allows the user to perform multiple exercises as well as allowing for freedom of movement. We also offer a complete line of free weights including a cable system, squat rack, dumbells, and a Smith Machine. Complimentary strength orientations are available with our Floor Trainers to introduce you to strength training principals and proper form. Personal Training is available for a more in depth one-on-one training session with a certified trainer.

Personal Fitness Training

Personal Fitness Training is a one-on-one workout program custom designed by a Certified Personal Trainer to meet your specific fitness goals. We are all unique, not only in physiology, but also in our needs, limitations, and lifestyles. A personal trainer will work with you on an individual basis to assist you in formulating and achieving specific training goals.

Senior Fitness Opportunities (Exercise, Experience, Expedition)

The Senior Fitness Opportunities program offers a total fitness program for mature adults, including a weekly exercise schedule to meet your fitness and health needs. Classes include cardiovascular exercise, strength and resistance training, stretching, therapeutic water exercise, and personal training.

Karina Stradford

Karina grew up dancing starting at the age of 3 and went on to compete in national competitions until the age of 17. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Public, Professional and Organizational Communication from Cal State East Bay, and has received her Personal Training Certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Karina’s goal is to help her clients achieve their personal best and help what they believe is impossible become possible. She loves assisting mothers with their post-pregnancy body goals, training young competitors and assisting those who are coming back to exercise after injury. Recently, she passed her second certification to become a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) through NASM. Corrective Exercise takes the client through a four-step program that is applied to reduce muscular dysfunction and correct movement compensations. Karina trains individuals of all ages and ability levels. 



Mary Claudino

 Mary is a certified personal trainer through the International Sports Sciences Association.  She graduated from Chico State University and double majored in Liberal Arts and Spanish. Soon after, Mary worked as a middle school teacher but now enjoys educating people in ways to help them achieve their fitness goals. Mary has always led an active lifestyle from playing team sports in high school to intramural athletics in college.  Recently, Mary has become interested in the sport of triathlon and competed in her first sprint event last fall.  After the success of training for the event, Mary was motivated to earn her personal training certification to help others achieve their fitness goals as well.  Mary takes satisfaction inchallenging people and seeing them rise to meet that challenge.




Melina Sisco

Mel has been very active her entire life and grew up doing competitive sports. Starting with Taekwondo and winning her first National Championship at the age of 8.Following an accident where Mel broke her back, she partially lost the ability to move her legs and arms properly. Driven to get back on her feet as soon as possible, she worked hard to fully recover so she could continue to do what she loves. She moved on with her passion for active, healthy living with competitive cheerleading and body building and won the European Championship with her team in 2014. She is currently training for the Cheerleading World Championship in 2020 with the California Allstar Bullets. Mel is passionate about outdoor activities and traveling. She enjoys passing on her knowledge about fitness and enjoys helping people form healthy, positive habits. Mel became a NASM Certified Personal Trainer to help others become their best selves and is open to training all experience levels and age groups.



Chelsea Whitney

Chelsea grew up playing sports and being outside any chance she could get. She played high competition soccer for 14 years and was also very active with volleyball, basketball, and gymnastics growing up. Although she went to school on the beach and loves to travel, she resides back in the Bay Area where she grew up. She is currently teaching kindergarten and does personal training and subs group classes on her spare time. She feels very well-rounded as she has tried everything from Pilates, marathon training, to CrossFit. She felt the need to share her love of health and fitness by obtaining her NASM Personal Training Certification. She believes that everyone has the capability of becoming a stronger version of themselves and that finding time for yourself and your health is very important. She works with all ages and looks forward to meeting with you!
